Over 400 family members from Dayton, Cincinnati and Southwest Ohio attend Reds game
June 1st, 2015
CINCINNATI – More than 400 Southwest Ohio family members attended the May 17 Cincinnati Reds game thanks to a $25,000 donation from CashMax Ohio to A Kid Again, which provides Adventures to children facing life threatening illnesses and their families.
“When an organization like CashMax Ohio makes a significant investment in what we do, it allows us to offer the families the fun Adventures they have come to look forward to and that we are happy to provide to them,” said Liz Flynn, Executive Director of the A Kid Again Southwest Chapter.
A non-profit organization heavily dependent on volunteers and donations, A Kid Again operates three chapters throughout Ohio providing more than 40 Adventures for families each year. A Kid Again serves families across Southwest Ohio including in the counties of Montgomery, Hamilton, Clermont, Warren, Highland, Greene, Miami, Darke, Clark, Adams, and Preble.
“Families raising kids with life threatening illnesses have a lot of tough days,” Flynn said. “With the help of generous companies like CashMax Ohio, we help make some of their days a little brighter. And because of the nature of what we do, which is a series of day Adventures rather than one annual event or trip to a destination, we give them something to look forward to regularly.”
CashMax Ohio, which has more than 30 locations across Ohio, has a philosophy of giving back to communities where it operates. CashMax Ohio employees and families attended the Reds game with the A Kid Again families.
“Working with and supporting A Kid Again is an opportunity for us to help kids that are facing very serious life threatening illnesses and their families,” said Cheney Pruett, the President and CEO of DMP Investments, which owns and operates CashMax Ohio.
“What is so wonderful about A Kid Again is that they have events year-round so the kids and their families have many opportunities to attend events and Adventures to take a break from what they are dealing with,” Pruett said. “CashMax Ohio is honored to support A Kid Again and its tremendous and inspiring mission and work.”
CashMax Ohio – which is a member of The Ohio Consumer Loan Association (OCLA) – donates $25,000 a year to A Kid Again, and in 2014 was a major sponsor of the annual Holiday party for more than 600 children.
“For some kids, the holiday party gift might be the only gift they receive,” Flynn said. “Because of the situation they are in, many of our families face a huge financial strain. We are grateful for the contribution from CashMax Ohio which helped so many families for the holidays.”

About A Kid Again: A Kid Again helps children with life-threatening illnesses have fun and just feel like “kids again” by putting aside their illnesses for a while. We give entire families giant Time-Outs from illness by taking them on multiple fun “Adventures” each year to places such as Kings Island, Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Zoo, Dayton Dragons, and our annual Holiday Party. The strain life-threatening childhood illnesses place on our families’ time, energy and financial resources often prohibits them from attending such outings on their own. Ongoing Adventures are for the entire family including siblings, and provide something to look forward to regularly as well as opportunities to connect with other families facing similar daily challenges. The A Kid Again Southwest Chapter serves 950 families in Cincinnati, Dayton, Southeast Indiana, and Northern Kentucky.
